Event: Earth Day at the Zoo: Explore the different ecosystems that make up our amazing planet with hands-on education stations, eco-crafts throughout the zoo, and scheduled tours of our rainforest, African savannah, North American Aviary and desert habitats. Meet animals from all over the world and discover different ways we can affect the future health of our planet.

Event: Farm Day & Shear Madness: It’s hard work running a farm, especially with all the animals that need attention… goats, donkeys, chickens, alpaca, geese and more! We’ll show you how it’s done! And spring is sheep shearing time, removing the heavy winter coats from our flock at the Children’s Center! Professional sheep shearers will demonstrate how the wool is expertly sheared.
Exciting demonstrations by Chet the Beekeeper are included. And the Zoo Woolies will demonstrate the art of felting while the Staten Island Hand Spinners and Weavers demonstrate how the raw wool becomes yarn.
